Elementary Counselor
Welcome to our Counselor's Corner web page. What does an Elementary Counselor do? Elementary School Counselors are school professionals who specialize in helping all elementary students. We act as a liaison with outside agencies and as a resource person for teachers and parents or guardians. Elementary counselors often wear the hat of teacher, counselor, coordinator or consultant. Often we visit the classrooms to teach positive character traits. We talk with students when they are happy, sad, angry, or about their school work and about themselves and others. Frequently we talk with teachers and parents or guardians about individual students school work and how they interact with their classmates.

Know a child that you suspect has a disability?
Ohio school districts are required to provide interventions when school-age students are experiencing difficulties or post where ADA complaints are to be filed. As a result, parents or educators may suspect a disability and referrals can be made for evaluations which are free of charge and will determine if a child living in the district has a disability or if a civil complaint procedure is deemed necessary.
